Successful research and development of new coatings for Poly Solar Panel (Poly Solar Panel)

U.S. Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute researchers in 2008 developed a new coating, which will be covered in solar panels (Poly Solar Panel) can make the latter's sunlight absorption rate increased to 96.2%, while the sunlight absorption rate of ordinary solar panels is only about 70%.

The new coating mainly solves two technical problems, one is to help solar panels absorb almost the entire solar spectrum, the second is to make solar panels absorb sunlight from a greater angle, thus improving the efficiency of solar panels to absorb sunlight.

Ordinary solar panels usually absorb only part of the solar spectrum and usually work more efficiently only when absorbing direct sunlight, so many solar installations are equipped with automatic adjustment systems to ensure that the solar panel (Poly Solar Panel) always maintains the most favorable angle to the sun for energy absorption.

Polycrystalline solar cells

In addition to the commonly used monocrystalline, polycrystalline and amorphous silicon cells, poly-compound solar cells refer to solar cells that are not made of a single element semiconductor material. Nowadays, there are many varieties of research in various countries, most of which have not yet been industrially produced, mainly the following.

a) Cadmium sulfide solar cells

b) Gallium arsenide solar cells

c) copper indium selenium solar cells (new multi-band gap gradient Cu(In, Ga)Se2 thin film solar cells)
