Batteries

The most common reason for exit sign or emergency light failure is an exhausted battery. Unfortunately, backup batteries do not work forever. Rechargeable batteries, after a while, lose their abilities to fully charge. To keep your signs and lights in compliance with the 90 minute backup required, a replacement battery is necessary. The Exit Light Company carries a wide variety of replacement NiCad batteries, 12 volt sealed lead acid batteries, 4 volt sealed lead acid batteries and 6 volt sealed lead acid batteries.

NiCAD Batteries

Sealed, rechargeable Nickle-Cadmium (NiCAD) replacement batteries. Available in a variety of voltages / amps and form factors.

Emergency Ballasts

Adding an Emergency Ballast kit to your existing light fixture allows the fixture to operate in emergency mode for at least 90 minutes during a power outage. Our emergency ballast kits include an emergency battery, charger and inverter circuit. Use the chart below to find the ballast needed for your installation.

LED Retrofit Kits

By law, exit signs are to be illuminated during building occupancy. In practice, exit signs are "ON" 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. For buildings with older exit signs, which use incandescent or fluorescent bulbs or lamps for illumination, this leads to significant energy and bulb replacement costs. Consider replacing your older exit signs with newer, energy efficient exit signs which use light emitting diodes (LEDs) or light emitting capacitors (LECs) for illumination. Otherwise, to modernize existing exit signs, install a retrofit kit, which will update the outdated lighting in your older exit sign's to energy efficient LED lighting. Retrofitting your incandescent or fluorescent exit signs with LEDs can decrease energy usage by up to 75%!

Guards & Shields

Protect your exit signs, emergency lights and exit sign/emergency light combos with these sleek polycarbonate shields or durable wireguards. Especially useful for areas such as gymnasiums, schools and parking lots, these decorative yet sturdy guards and shields will keep your investment safe while not hampering their efficiency.
